Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: Still in a late summer pattern and that means tough fishing on Reelfoot. Anglers did report a few decent catches (20-30) of crappie this week. Yellow bass are really biting. Bass, bluegill and catfish are slow. The water temperature is in the high 80's in the shallows, probably mid 80's on the main lake. Lake level is down to 4 inches above pool stage. Here's the rest: Stripes (yellow bass)- There has been some excellent stripe fishing this week. Pin minnows fished with slip bobbers in 3-5 feet of water have produced well. Grooms Pocket and Green Island Point have been hot areas lately, among others. Bluegill- Still slow. There have been a few ok catches, but for bluegill fishing on Reelfoot it's slow. The folks that are catching some have been doing well with small hair jigs tipped with waxworms or crickets. Crappie-Surprisingly, there were a few good catches this week. They're bringing them in on the main lake in anywhere from 7-14 feet of water. Minnows are by far the top bait this time of year. Bass-The bass fishing remains slow and there still aren't many people chasing them. Catfish-Catfishing is slow. That's a little unusual for this time of year. But, the reports we've gotten haven't been very good.
