Another Great Catfishing Trip

Well, guide Bubba Parrish has been wearing the catfish out again and he says that the catfishing is getting better and better.

Reelfoot Catfish Picture

Folks, I'm telling you if you haven't tried Reelfoot Catfishing, you don't know what you're missing.

These fish were caught near the Rat Island Shoreline on Sonny's Stinkbait in early May. There were 36 fish total and they ranged from 1.5 pounds to 7 pounds 11 ounces.

Here's Bubba's method to bring in Old Whiskers.

Catfishing rig for Reelfoot

Anchor within easy casting distance of some trees, logs or scattered clumps of lily pads, throw out your bait and hold on. Use a snap swivel, so when your bait gets hammered, you just take it off and don't have to replace the whole rig.

Try a few different spots. If you don't get any bites after 5 or 10 minutes, try somewhere else and make sure that if you catch one, throw right back to the same spot. Being a couple of feet off can make a big difference.

Good Luck!
