reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
November 15th, 2006

Only one fish is providing action lately, the crappie. Jackie has had some really nice trips lately. Monday he brought in 38 keepers in the 3/4 to 2 1/4 lb. range. If you have time between deer hunting, shopping and everything else, give them a try.

Best depths are 8-14 feet. Try the deeper water if the wind will let you. If it won't, the shallower end of this range should still provide some good action. Minnows are the top bait.

Lake level is really high at 6-8 inches above pool level. Water temperature is 51 degrees.

Fishing reports will be sporadic over the next few months as the number of fishermen, thus the number of reports, will slow down for a while. When we get some news we'll post it.

Don't forget, the crappie will bite all winter long depending on the conditions. Look for deeper depths as the winter goes along. The coldest months can produce some of the best catches of the year, especially for bigger crappie.
