Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: There was some great crappie fishing earlier this week. Since Thursday it's been too windy for most anglers. Up until then Jackie was bringing in 30-40 keepers a day. There's a storm forecasted for Saturday and high winds come with it. Not a great scenario for the short term. But (there's always a but), temperatures look to be fairly steady in the 5 day forecast. If the wind will lay there's some good crappie fishing to be had. Jackie has been doing well in the shallows with jigs and in the deeper water (12-16 feet) on minnows. If you can, try the deeper water. If you can't, you can still catch some good fish in the 4 foot or shallower areas. Lots of colors are working for jigs. Throw a little of everything in the tackle box til you find a color that works well. On another note, Jackie has been picking up a lot of bass and bluegill mixed in with the crappie in the shallows. You might want to gear up just a little for the bass. Line in the 6-8 lb. test range helps when you hook them. Look for bass fishing to pickup in the next couple of weeks. Lake level is about 6 inches above pool level. Water temperature is 49 deep and 52 shallow as of Thursday. Good Fishing!
