reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report
             May 1  2016

     CRAPPIE SPAWN NOW UNDERWAY
BLUEGILL GETTING READY

Jackie Wayne's Back...it's time for another fishing report for Reelfoot Lake.

It's been a pretty good week weather wise as April hit the home stretch and May knocks on the door.

Water temp is in the mid 70s...Lake level is
pool level.

Well the Crappie spawn is on! Shore line fishing is great  jigs tip with wax worms is working for crappie and blue gill...Folks the spawn is a great time to fish for crappie but don't keep more than you need...it's on...jig fishing around trees, shore lines, and grass line is great.

Bass are still spawning in 3 to 5 feet of water...their biting jig and pig, top water baits, worms, and spinner baits around duck blinds, trees, stumps, and pads.

Bluegill are not spawning yet but it want be long. May is peak spawning time so expect action to improve weekly as more fish head to spawning territory...best baits are crickets, jigs, and wax worms.

Catfish are biting good in the ditches and on yo-yo's around the trees.

I've been having a lot of fun with customers...

Till next time God Bless and have fun!

Thanks Jackie Wayne !
