Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
September 1, 2010

Reelfoot Lake is 16" below summer pool level. Water temps are 78 to 80 degree range. Water conditions are good with slight green stain in color. The lake level is very low. Use caution when putting your boat in around the ramps and motoring across the lake

Bluegill: Slow: A few are being caught around trees and grass lines. Crickets , popeye jigs and wax worms best choice for bait.

Crappie: Good: Some good fish are being caught in 12-15' water fishing about 8' deep using minnows.   Remember, the limit is 30 Crappie per day per man. There are no size limits on Reelfoot Lake.

Bass: Good: The bass are bunched up around the pads and duck weed. They are hitting buzz baits, frogs and other top water lures.

Catfish: Good:  The catfish are biting early and late around the grass lines. Nightcrawlers, stink bait, cut shad, hotdogs, and chicken liver.

Stripes: Good: The stripes are surfacing and biting on pin minnows around the shore line.

Don't forget early wood duck season Sept.11-15. Reelfoot is holding a lot of wood ducks and teal.
