reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
September 17, 2009

Lake is 2 inches below pool level and water temps are 74 to 78 degree range.

   Bluegill: Slow....Slow.

Crappie: Good. The crappie bite is good with some nice slabs caught on minnows or jigs tipped with minnows in 4-15' water. Slow trolling

Bass:  Fair. Best areas are deep water logs, trees, pad patches and some seed moss. On sunny days, fishing deeper is best but on days with more clouds, then resort to a topwater bite until up into the day. They were hitting a variety of baits. Spinnerbaits, tubes, and about any of your favorite lures might produce.

Catfish: Fair. The best catches are coming from  the grassy shorelines. Chicken livers, stinkbait, and nightcrawlers have been the baits of choice.

   Stripes:  Slow
