reelfoot lake fishing report

Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for:
             September 22, 2014

FALL FISHING BEGINS...REELFOOT LAKE CRAPPIE ACTION
HEATING UP

Well Jack's back with another fishing report and it's better than the last one. Water temperature is in the 80's should drop into the 70's with the cooler nights. Lake level is 6"  below pool, but that is still in good condition for this time of year.

Crappie fishing is doing so much better than last month. Their being caught in lower blue basin on double hook minnow Riggs with minnows around 8 to12 feet of water.

When your fishing be sure when you hang on a stump to stop and fish in that spot at least 10 min. Early seems to be better than late.

Their also being caught at lower blue basin on jigs tip with wax worms or minnows lime and chartreuse are the best colors at this time on your tubes.

Bass are also doing better on spoons around pads and duck weed, black spoons seem to be working best 1/4 or 1/2 oz.

Catfish are good on stink bait in 4 to 6 ft. of water around shore lines or trees.

Stripes are slowing down so no report at this time.

Blue Wing Teal are coming in looking good for the season.

Well that's all folks. Gone Fishing be safe and have fun.
