Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: Lake is at pool level and water temps 78. Bluegill: Slow. Cool front shut them down. Should pick back up next week. Crappie: Good. The crappie bite is good with some nice slabs caught on minnows or jigs tipped with minnows in 8-15' water. Bass: Remains good. They were hitting a variety of baits. Spinnerbaits, tubes, and about any of your favorite lures might produce. Catfish: Excellent. The best catches are coming from the grassy shorelines. Nightcrawlers and stinkbait usually work equally well. Stripes (yellow bass) Good on grassy shorelines. Pin minnows fished about 18" deep on a slip bobber should work well. Try early or late in the day. You will often find them chasing shad on the surface at these times.
