CRAPPIE SPAWN BEGINS
Welcome fisherman,
Jackie Wayne's back with another fishing report. Water temp, is in the
58-62 degree range. Lake level is above pool. Crappie are moving into
shallow water and being caught on Strike King jigs. Colors working good
are black chartreuse, chartreuse, and white chartreuse, jigging tree's,
stumps, and the shoreline. Crappie are also being caught in the lower
basin on jigs with minnows or double hook rigs with minnows. Bass are
doing great on deep trees fishing jigs, lizards, and spinner baits. Bass
in shallow water are being caught on top water buzz baits and jerk
baits. Blue gill are doing good on jigs tips with wax worms fishing
around the trees and shore line. Catfish are also doing good with stink
bait around trees and shoreline. Stripe bass are slow at this
time.
You new comers need to get a guide for the first time, that way you will
learn when, where and how to fish the lake.
