Anglers welcome April with open arms and wave goodbye to a mean March. Water temp is in upper the 50's...Lake level is one foot above pool. Crappie's biological clock is ticking...their moving in to spawn! We're catching them in 6 to 8 feet of water on minnow rigs, and jigs tip with minnows or wax worms. Best colors are black and chart. or chart. Lower blue basin is the best bite at this time. Black crappie spawn is almost over in shallow water...move to 4 to 6 feet deep and you will find the ones that have not spawned. Bass are also starting their spawn 2 to 4 feet deep around stumps, trees, and pads. The bite is good on buzz baits, spoons, jerk baits, and spinner baits...upper blue basin is best at this time for bass.
Blue Gill are also biting good 2 to 4 feet deep around
shore lines, trees, and stumps...jigs tipped with wax worms and
crickets. Till next time God Bless and have fun!
