Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: Fishing continues to hold up well for most species this week. Wind continues to play a big factor, as has rain. We also had a cold front come through Thursday and we haven't heard any reports on what affect it has had yet. It could change the fishing a little. Water temperature is 69. Lake level is way above pool level due to all the rain lately. It's probably 8 inches or more above right now. Here's the rest: Crappie- Still good to excellent, at least before the said cold front. Depths of 3-10 feet have been producing well. Minnows are the top bait. Bass- Good. Early and late in the day are good times to try them. You might try jig/pig combos, plastic worms or lizards around trees and logs in 5-6 feet of water. Black and blue colors should work well with these baits. Bluegill-Good. Try jigging with popeye jigs tipped with waxworms. In the pads and around the trees are good spots. They're very shallow. Catfish- Good. The water is moving through the ditches right now and that's a good place to try. Anglers have also had success fishing 50-60 yards out from the shoreline in pockets like swan basin and grooms pocket. Stripes (Yellowbass)- No reports.
