Reelfoot Lake Fishing Report for: There's not a lot to say this week, except for the crappie. They're doing well. Catfish and yellow bass ain't bad either. The lake has really come up with all the recent rain and is probably a foot above pool level. Water temp is at 71 degrees as of a couple of day ago. Here's the rest: Crappie- Good. Mornings have been best lately. Between 8:30 and 11:30 has been the best time, but that could change with the fall weather. Jackie has been bringing in between 50-70 keepers a day in the 5-8 foot depths. Minnows are the top bait. Bass- Fair. This high water has pushed them back into the thick stuff and they are hard to get to under those conditions. They'll probably bite if you can get in there with em. Bluegill- Slow. Catfish- Catfishing has been good around the trees. With this high water, there is a good current in the ditches and fishing around the mouths of the ditches should work well also. Nightcrawlers, stinkbait and shad should all work well. Stripes (Yellow bass)- Good. They're hitting around the shorelines on pin minnows and small white jigs. Make sure to check the fishing reports from previous years to see what typically happens in the upcoming weeks.
