R
EELFOOT WATERSHED LAKES

A series of lakes were built over the last 15 or so years to help provide relief from the silt draining into Reelfoot Lake. But what they also provide are some good fishing opportunities, especially when the winds are high on the big lake.

Ten watershed lakes are now  open. They are located in the hills east of the lake and are often void of fishermen.

These lakes vary and some are known for crappie while others are known for their bass. Can't say which are best for what species, you'll have to find that out for yourself. Most of these lakes still contain large stands of submerged trees, which provide excellent cover for crappie, bass and others.

If you want to see just what kind of fish these lakes can produce...check these pictures out.

Note: This map is not very detailed, but gives you an idea of their location.  The watersheds are in blue. There are currently 10 watersheds. The one marked proposed is now open. Setting your  printer for high quality can improve the results somewhat.
